Euromillions is a lottery game held every Tuesday and Friday at 21:30 in Paris. It is the most important lottery in Europe, as it is the game that brings together the most participants and also distributes the highest prizes.
The first draw was held on February 13, 2004, in which three countries were the main promoters of the lottery, specifically the lottery agencies of United Kingdom (Nattional Lottery), France (La Française des Jeux) and Spain (State Lotteries and Gambling). Only a few months after this first draw, six other countries joined: Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal and Switzerland.
We are talking about a lottery really young, as it was established from the entry of the EU currency Euro (€), although for more than a decade was studying the possibility of creating a common lottery for the 500 million inhabitants of the European Union.
In this Euro Millions lottery, a minimum prize of €17,000,000 is guaranteed for the first category of winners, and a currently established maximum of up to €190,000,000 (this amount has been awarded on three occasions to date).
There are three important factors to take into account to know the Euromillions game: The rules that regulate the game, the categories of prizes, the distribution of the same and the “jackpots”.
Essentially it is about selecting 5 numbers between 1 and 50, and 2 stars between 1 and 12. The more numbers and stars we get right, the bigger our prize will be. It’s that easy!
When you enter the Play Euromillions section you will see a row made up of 5 columns, each of which consists of 50 squares numbered from 1 to 50, and a second part which consists of 12 squares (lucky stars) also numbered from 1 to 12.
As you can see, initially there is a line with 5 game columns to make our bets, but we can expand the number of rows simply by clicking on the MORE LINES box.
In each of these tables or lines is where we must make our forecast (5 numbers and 2 stars). In addition, we can do it manually choosing our favorite numbers or randomly using the QUICK SELECTION button that appears above each column.
Once you have filled in all the tickets you want to play, you will be able to consult the total amount in the lower right corner.
Clicking on the CONTINUE box will take us to confirm the order and make the payment, where you can choose between doing it with your previously deposited funds or with any of the more than 20 payment methods that we have.
The official price of each bet varies depending on the country and its currency. To have a rough idea compared to the Euro.
Together with the amount of the Euromillions bet, in some of the organizing countries of this lottery a complement has been established: the Million.
This draw is held every week in each of these countries by buying the bet on Fridays. A unique code is provided automatically, if the winning number matches your ticket you will win €1,000,000 regardless of whether your combination has been awarded or not.
There are complementary Euromillions draws that are held in the various organising countries. In some cases with the same amount of the bet of Euromillions, and in other cases with a separate price.
The Euromillions rain is a raffle in which all the countries participating in the draw play and creates multiple millionaires in a guaranteed way in a single draw.
The winners will be selected at random from all the tickets entered in the draw with this special event that will take place on designated occasions throughout the year.
This is when the participating lottery organizations decide to offer a special guaranteed fund for the first category (jackpot), being able to be in any draw announced. Since 2017, two such draws have been held each year, with a prize amount of €130,000,000. Since 2017, 2 such draws have been held each year, with a prize amount of €130,000,000. From February 1, 2020, there will be three (3) “super draws” each year, and in principle it is planned to increase the guaranteed amount, regardless of the value in the previous draw, whether won or not.
In case there is no first category winner, the jackpot will be accumulated for the next draw until reaching the maximum of 190,000,000€ or the forecast from the modification of February 2020.
Also called Big Friday, these are draws with a guaranteed minimum jackpot of nine figures and work with exactly the same rules as ordinary draws.
The Euromillions Big Friday jackpot fund is formed by receiving 4.8% of the Common Prize Fund for the first accumulations after the jackpot starts again with the guaranteed minimum amount. After eight draws thereafter, 21% is paid to the Fund Booster.
