La Primitiva is a lottery game based on predicting 6 numbers out of 49 possible. The game of the Primitive goes back to the beginnings of the lottery in Spain in 1763.
The rules that regulate the game of La Primitiva are very simple. The game consists in forecast 6 numbers of a table containing 49 squares numbered from 1 to 49.
Also, simple or multiple bets can be made. In a single bet you have to forecast 6 numbers and you can play as many columns as you want. You can also make a multiple bet using only the first of the expected columns, and mark it on it 7 or more numbers up to a maximum of 11.
Apart from these bets, there is also the possibility of playing 5 numbers in an official ticket, this being a multiple bet in which the missing number is always automatically correct. In this case, it would be the equivalent of making 44 bets.
The refund of the Primitiva is a number randomly assigned by the system at the moment of validating the bet.
The prize consists of a fixed payment equivalent to the amount of a simple bet, for each and every one of the tickets containing that number that is extracted from a second drum with balls numbered from 0 to 9.
The new habits and market trends, make to play la Primitiva as simple as to navigate through internet.
Nowadays, and from the comfort of your own home, place of work or leisure, with a simple internet connection, you have immediate access to place bets on all the lotteries and, of course, also on the Primitiva.
The advantages of playing online are many:
The special category prize, also known as a jackpot, always starts from a guaranteed minimum of €2,000,000.
In the event that in a draw there is no winner of the maximum category, the amount is accumulated for the next draw in that same category, and so on until someone finally hits the big prize.
The first jackpot paid in the history of the Primitiva was 62 million pesetas (around over 372,000 €). And the largest jackpot paid to date was 101,724,559.10 € that had a single winner in Barcelona, on October 15th of 2015.
The “joker”, is an optional game associated with the Primitive and available since 2012.
When the physical ticket is played, if you want to play the Joker too you will simply need to check the corresponding box. Automatically and randomly, the system will assign to the Primitiva ticket a combination of 7 digits ranging from 0.000.000 to 9.999.999, both inclusive. That number is unique, so there is no possibility that there is more than one winner of the first category.
The draw is made by extracting seven balls from a different drum to the one used for the draw of the primitiva. That drum contains 10 balls numbered from 0 to 9. After each extraction the ball is reintroduced in the drum, being able to give the circumstance that the same ball may come out on more than one occasion.
To obtain a prize, the numbers must coincide with the same order as those drawn in the draw.
There are 6 prize categories, with a fixed allocation for each category.
